When Anelia and Nicholas contacted me to shoot their wedding I jumped at the chance. How often do you get to shoot a wedding in Bulgaria? Their traditional Bulgarian ceremony was full of surprises for Hiko and I. It started with a traditional parade of Anelia, Nicholas, their family and most of their Bulgarian village through the entire town accompanied with musicians. Nicholas, who is a Navy pilot, wore his dress whites for the ceremony which took place in an amazing church in her families village. After the ceremony, we took to the village streets for an amazing photo tour using the beautiful architecture as a backdrop. After our portrait session, Anelia and Nicholas changed into traditional Bulgarian attire for their reception which took place at a quaint reception hall. Thank you Anelia and Nicholas for this amazing opportunity to witness a truly unique and wonderful wedding.

After being in the wedding business for as long as we have, you get to know a lot of the other wedding vendors here in Hawaii. One of the florists that we work with frequently and have gotten to know quite well over the years is Yvonne. Her sister, Lisa, is actually one of our photographers and even managed to bring a camera along and grab some shots at Yvonne and Alex's wedding, despite the fact that she was one of the bridesmaids. Yvonne and Alex's very unique and beautiful wedding took place in southern France, in the village of Limoux. Yvonne and Alex flew us out there for an entire week, during which we traveled the countryside and took photos at several picturesque locations. The trip was a lot of fun as we got to stay with Yvonne, Alex and their whole family at the amazing home of Alex's family friends, who took us on several trips to visit historic locations and fed us amazing French meals daily, lots of champagne and foie gras :) This trip was a once in a lifetime chance to grab timeless images of a beautiful couple in a stunning environment and we are so grateful to Yvonne and Alex for giving us this amazing opportunity. Thank you!

While all of us here love shooting weddings, it's always fun to get out and try something a little different. One of the publications that we are very lucky to get to work with is Pacific Weddings Magazine, who has asked us to come shoot several of their fashion editorials. This all-day shoot took us from Waikiki beach to the Honolulu design center, after which we took some photos in Chinatown and finished up at Ala Moana Beach park. We had a full team for this shoot with a total of six photographers, one make-up artist (Jacque Rojas, who had to work fast and did an amazing job on the girls), three editors and directors from Pacific Weddings and two models. I can only imagine the sight we all made, staked out on the beach and in downtown with our whole team running around holding assorted reflectors, lights, and constantly adjusting makeup hair and gowns. Thank you Pacific Weddings for giving us the chance to work with such a great team of people, who all worked together wonderfully to make the day a huge success.
